So I just had to give a little remembrance to the king of pop. I used to be so in love with him when I was little. I told my mom that I was going to change my name to Karen (babysitter club books, I think she was the president) and I was going to marry Michael Jackson so I would be Karen Jackson. He did get super weird but what an amazing talent and artist. He truly ia a legend.

Joy School Graduation!

So I know that it is a little silly to have your 3 year old have a graduation, but it was so fun! He was super cute and sang a few songs and he also got to wear a cap and tassle. During the last semester they had worked on a book with all of his projects and cool personal facts. Thanks for all the other moms that taught this year, you guys were amazing and we can't wait for the next year!

First Talk

Today Brent gave his very first talk at church! It was a talk on baptism. I was so proud of him, he was very calm and confident. I was suppose to help him but, anyone that knows me knows that I am TERRIFIED of public speaking so I just had Travis do it and it turned out great. The highlight for him was going to be speaking into the microphone, but it was broken:( Brent didn't seem to notice though and still pretended it was working by moving it around and talking into it. Good Job Brenty!

They are all so cute and of course we miss our missing student Esther. She moved a couple of weeks ago and we miss her terribly. Anyway, here are the cuties in the class. We actually spent Easter with Travis' brother's family in Moraga. It was a perfect day and we ate outside on the lawn and the kids enjoyed the great weather. Garage Sale Finds!

Anyone that knows me, knows that I LOVE a good bargain. Today my friend and I went looking for some bargains and actually found a few. I had my eye on an exasaucer for upstairs, but somebody snatched it before I could:( Anyway, I did walk away with some great items. I found this pink hat for newborn baby girl shoots and this awesome gap vest and onesie for Barrett. I also found 2 other "polo" type shirts and a whole Easter outfit complete with shirt, sweater vest and khakis for Barrett also. I just had to share my hunting joy, I was actually looking for specific things but found some others too. Oh and the grand total for everything...$8.00, thats right I said $8.00!

Yay! Spring has finally sprung. We went to the park today and it was such a beautiful day. The boys had fun seeing their friends and we took a nice long walk too. After we got home we realized that Travis had the keys and was not home. We were only locked out for a few minutes so I took the oppurtunity to take some spring pictures. Seeing all this great sunshine makes me sooo excited for summertime.

Drool, bubbles chewing nonstop...so this is what I see all day everyday. Poor little five month Barrett has two huge chompers coming in and he is misrable. I feel so bad for him because he is the kind of baby who is super mellow. Hopefully they will break through soon and give him relief.

Here are some pics of Barrett eating solids for the first time! He loved every bit of them and I had to stop him after he ate a whole thing of squash and half the applesauce! So funny watching the anticipation in his face and when he doesn't get it fast enough he starts furiously eating either his hands or the bib!

So my parents came for the weekend and we went to the Academy of Sciences in San Fransisco. It was really fun and when we first got there, we saw this picture. It is a walk way over a coral reef tank with sharks, sting rays, exotic fish and many other endangered things. As we were walking over this Barrett started to fuss and I knew he was probably hungry. Rather than making everyone hurry and finish, we found a stopping point and I pulled out the bottle and formula container. I set them both on the lovely railing as seen in this picture and proceeded to pour the formula into the bottle. I was trying to hurry and while I shook the bottle with one hand I tried to snap the lid to the container at the same time. As I snapped the lid, it slipped off the railing and into the coral reef! I was mortified. The whole time I had the formula on the railing I was thinking that it might not be a great idea, but I also thought that there was no way I was THAT clumsy. Anyway we watched it float around the tank and had to have divers get it out, meanwhile I had two women next to me think I was horrible for dropping something in there. I had been on my belly trying to reach in but nothing had worked. I think this might be my new most embarrassing moment. Oh and about five minutes after that I take Brent to the bathroom and he pees on my leg. I t ended up being a fun day and a pretty funny experience. I just hope nothing died in there:)

Temple Lights.

During Christmas, one of my favorite things is to look at Christmas lights. I make Travis drive around aimlessly to find that awesome house. This year on my birthday I decided why not see the mother of all lights around here! The Oakland Temple has a great display and we had a lot of fun family time too. I did have to show off my new birthday coat too! Thanks Trav.

it does you are right! Travis volunteered to be Santa at the Annual Ward party and he actually loved it! Kids brought letters to Santa and told him what they wanted, he had a blast! I thinks Brent may have had a hunch it was Travis but it was still really fun to see!

The day after Thanksgiving we went to the Clear Lake State Park for a great family walk. It is becoming kind of a holiday tradition. My mom takes her first graders there on a field trip so she makes a great tour guide! On this day it was probably about 75ish! Great weather!

This mountain Lion just kept pacing back and forth, and at first we thought he was looking at the possible food truck that was behind us, but then we realized that every time we would move the stroller he would stop and look at Barrett. We took some video because it was so creepy. He totally wanted to eat the baby!

The hippos were some of Brent's favorites! They are almost kissing in the background.

The gorilla was pretty cool, but he looked a little sad until Brent started talking to him and them he perked up a little.

Too close for comfort to this rattlesnake! The first aid office was right next to the repiles!

Birch Aquarium

We decided to go the this little aquarium that was right down the street from our hotel. Travis didn't get to come with us because it was the day he had to work. It was a really fun and relaxing day and Brent loved seeing the sharks and pretending he was a cage diver. He wasn't so sure about going into the pretend mouth though!

The first night we were in San Diego, we went out looking for some snacks and spotted the Temple! It was right by our hotel and it was amazing. These pictures do not do it justice. We took a few minutes and walked around the grounds and it was such a nice treat.

I took these about a week ago and he is about 6 weeks now! I don't think it's just gas anymore. It is so fun to see Barrett grow and change everyday. He is such a good little baby and seeing him smile just melts our hearts. He has started making other sounds than just crying and is able to stay awake longer than 10 min. at a time:) He is already getting so big and I think he is about 11 lbs. now.

Bass Pro Shop

We went to the new Bass Pro Shop in Manteca. I wasn't really that into it until we got there and I saw how awesome it was!! It is the biggest store I have ever been in. There is so much to look at and they even have several ponds with real fish. There were tons of animals and waterfalls and all the outdoor stuff you could image!

Yesterday started out like any other day and I had a whole list of fun things I was going to get accomplished. You know, laundry, cleaning, dishes, all very exciting. Well about 10:00 a.m. Travis said "hey let's go to Marine World" I said that sounds awesome and I could also put off my chores. We soon found out they are only open on the weekends now so we settled for the Oakland Zoo instead. I always forget how much I love that zoo. We never went enough when we lived there. Anyway we spent just a few hours and saw pretty much the whole zoo and had a great family time! Brent had so much fun and his favorite were the elephants. We sat and watched them for about an hour and they ate and did some pretty cool trick with their trainers.

NCS Champs back again!

Our high school football team won the North Coast Section our senior year and of course Travis helped make that happen. The team has not won another one in ten years, so members of the winning team came back and had a ten year reunion to help inspire the team. They got to ride in a fire truck in the homecoming parade and sit sideline at the game. Something worked because the team won their game that night! I love being from a small town where main street shuts down for a homecoming parade! Great job guys.

Best first grade teacher

My mom got honored as Teacher of the Year in her school district, so we went to the dinner to celebrate with her. She is the best teacher I know and anyone who has a chance to be in her class or to work with her is a better person because of it. She teaches first grade and you can tell how great she is because the kids love her and she has a way of making them all excited to learn! Great job Mom. Oh and she also recieved this honor once before in another district.:)

We went to our favorite pumpkin patch again this year. We had a blast and we went with our good friends the Thompson's. There were train rides, pony rides, petting zoo ( which had some very aggressive goats!), pumpkin blasters, and yes, I did hit the bell in the middle of the pumpkin on my second shot!

We decorated some halloween cookies and took them to Grandma and Papas house! Never again will I make black icing! Of course the black was Brent's favorite to use on all the "spooky cats" his teeth were stained a weird gray-purple color. Brent had a blast and the cookies were a hit.
